What if someone handed you a ball of yarn and asked how long it was? What if they told you you only had five minutes to come up with your answer? What if they told you you couldn't leave the seat you were sitting in? How would you answer the question? To some of you reading, this might sound like a scene from a forgotten Saw movie, but to others, your brain might already be spinning coming up with a creative solution. And that's what our latest offering is all about. We call it Taskerade, and it's a wild event full of unique challenges and tasks that you'll have to master if you want to succeed. We won't go into too much detail, because the fun is in the surprise, but you can expect to face challenges of all sorts of skills: some physical, some mental, and some that test talents you may not have put to use in a while. A Great Option for DFW Team BuildingPerfect for indoor gatherings, Taskerade is a great way to challenge your team in ways they've never considered. And like all our events, the content is very diverse, making sure every participant gets a chance to contribute, come up with ideas, and be the star! Almost all challenges leave room for interpretation, and creativity is crucial. And so is teamwork. You'll need to work together, in harmony if possible, to solve a lot of these tasks, and that means playing well with others. If you're looking for team building in Dallas, Taskerade is a fantastic option. We love our scavenger hunts, but we also love coming up with new events for people, and this is one we're really proud of. And it's not just Dallas! We can bring Taskerade to you, too. If you've got a room big enough for everyone to move around a bit, that's ideal, whether it's a conference room at your offices, or a private dining space at a restaurant. We can make it work -- it's only fair that we figure out a few of the mysteries for you. If you're planning an event in Frisco, Plano, Grapevine, Fort Worth, or anywhere in DFW, give us a holler. Looking for a Unique Birthday Party in Dallas?Taskerade is a great choice for a unique DFW birthday party, too! One of the things we like best about this event is our ability to customize, so we can craft games that pay tribute to the guest of honor in surprising ways. Or if you're throwing a bash for your coworkers, we can easily incorporate your organization's themes, mission statements, and inside jokes.
All right, if you've read this far, it's only fair we give you a few hints at what sort of games you might face. So ask yourself: could you, blindfolded, identify items just by smell? How would you build the tallest tower using only items from your desk? Can you toss a teabag into a mug from across the room? How fast can you name 10 kinds of birds? What if you have to do it while balancing a baguette in your hand? While not blinking? The possibilities are endless, and so are the points you can earn if you do well. Ready to book? Get in touch now to find out how! Ready for a game? Here goes. Even through spring is just getting warmed up (literally), we're already thinking about what comes after spring, at least in this game. Each clue will lead to a word that can often be seen after spring. For example, the answer to the first clue is BOARD, as in SPRING BOARD. 1. Piece of plywood 2. Dental service 3. Partner of stop and drop 4. Fracture 5. Really rich 6. "________ Day" 7. 101, perhaps 8. Lebron James or Scottie Pippen 9. Scaredy-cat Stumped? Scroll waaaay down for the answers. Keep scrolling.... THE ANSWERS 1. BOARD 2. CLEANING 3. ROLL 4. BREAK 5. LOADED 6. TRAINING 7. FEVER 8. FORWARD 9. CHICKEN Happy Spring! We were recently contacted by a local chapter of a youth organization who were interested in planning an event around an upcoming annual celebration. When we received their inquiry, we saw a compelling opportunity to work with a group that’s doing great things in our community. The goal of the day was to reunite the membership together after summer break, and they felt like a scavenger hunt would be a great way to celebrate. Now we love hosting hunts, and we love building hunts, but this was a new challenge. Why? Because the group wanted a hunt that would send families all through the suburbs of Flower Mound, Highland Village, Copper Canyon, Lantana, Bartonville and Double Oak. They were eager to create an event that celebrated their community, an attitude that’s also key to everything we do. But this was a big neighborhood, and as of yet, we’d always only offered hunts on foot. To create a hunt like this, we’d need to require teams to drive, and we’d also need to find checkpoints along the route as well, to give them spots to regroup, solve puzzles, and make their way to the next spot. We saw an opportunity here as well. Central to the group's mission is nurturing future Black leaders, and together we realized that we could use the checkpoints to showcase Black-owned businesses in the neighborhood. Working in conjunction with our client as well as the local businesses, including Room 5280 Escape Room and Adventure Kids, we designed a course that took players through town -- starting at their homes and ending at a surprise local landmark. The hunt kicked off with a mass text, a clue they’d need to decipher in order to discover their first stop, the Flower Mound library. Once they arrived there, they had to look out for a QR code which they could scan for a clue to their next stop. QR codes have had a huge resurgence in the last year or so, thanks to offering a contact-free, safe solution for delivering information. And we took advantage in a big way. By posting the codes at the checkpoints along the route, we were able to send teams to links on our site where they could solve the puzzles. This structure allowed for a self-guided experience, one that didn’t require a host to hop from place to place, meaning we could cover far more ground than our on-foot hunts.
Creating the content of the hunt was a collaborative process as well. The teams researched and answered questions about Black history and culture, guaranteeing that the participants would take away new knowledge and, we hoped, a greater appreciation for the purpose of the day. It was a genuine honor for DFW Scavenger Hunt to participate in planning and pulling off the event. We’re grateful to the community leaders who included us, and we’re committed to continuing to support causes that actively improve the lives of others. Obsessed with WORDLE? So are we, obviously, but you know us and puzzles. The clever game, was designed purely as a gift for the creator's partner, and it plays like a cross between Mastermind and Hangman (not to mention the old game show LINGO that this author allllmost app eared on). It combines these two classics into an addictive, simple daily challenge. There are a few things that have contributed to its wild success.
And yet, we're certain that if you're playing once a day, there's a part of you that would love to play, oh, just a few more games, at least while you finish your breakfast and before you check your email, right? We've put together a few options that will scratch that itch till the next Wordle rolls out. QUEERDLE is a self-described Yassification of Wordle. The rules are the same, but the answers always have an LGBTQ twist to them, and... devilishly, words can be anywhere from four to eight letters. Eight! Your trusty STARE won't help you now. If you prefer sticking to four-letter words, then we suggest SWEARDLE, which as you may have guessed from its name, is serious about the four-letter word part. Guess whatever you want, but the answer will always be profane. DORDLE is doubly diabolical. It's structured like Wordle, but you're trying to guess two words simultaneously. You only get seven guesses, and yes, it's as tricky as it sounds! If you like guessing words but want to mix up the rules a bit, GUESS MY WORD is a unique challenge. The rules are simple. Guess a word, and the game tells you whether it appears alphabetically before or after the keyword. You keep guessing as you narrow it down, until you know it's somewhere between, say BAMBINO and BANISTER and the answer is on the tip of your tongue. Or perhaps you'd prefer to add some history to your puzzling, in which case we highly recommend the WIKI HISTORY GAME. When prompted, just drag the suggested prompt to a timeline, and the longer you place items in the right order, the longer you play. Prompts are as varied as "Sistine Chapel Completed" to "Randy Jackson Born," and they're not always so easy to put in order. Of course, if all those puzzles still don't satisfy your itch, you can always turn to the good folks at DFW Scavenger Hunt to create a game for you. Play in person or remotely, solving puzzles and riddles of all sorts. And you'll still see plenty of green squares... we just call them parks. Book a hunt today! It's 2022... you know, the future! Besides actually arriving in the future, there are a few ways to know what it holds, but they're all a little murky. At least in the case of this puzzle they are. The odd phrases below can be unscrambled to reveal several ways of seeing what the future holds. As an example, the first one, TALL SLY CRAB, anagrams to CRYSTAL BALL. If you need help envisioning the rest, scroll wayyyy down for the answers! 1. CRAB TALL SLY 2. TRACTOR ADS 3. GRAY TOOLS 4. HI MINCEMEAT 5. TOOK FIRE OUNCE 6. LIME GRANDPA 7. YOU MONGREL 8. AS ELEVATE 9. HYPNOTIC CHILES 10. BLEACH GAG LIMIT If you'd like to see more puzzles like this in your future, consider booking a scavenger hunt with us, full of games, puzzles, and all sorts of ways to train your brain! The vision is unclear... ask again later... Wait... there's something coming into focus... The Answers 1. CRYSTAL BALL 2. TAROT CARDS 3. ASTROLOGU 4. TIME MACHINE 5. FORTUNE COOKIE 6. PALM READING 7. NUMEROLOGY 8. TEA LEAVES 9. PSYCHIC HOTLINE 10. MAGIC EIGHT BALL Do you hear what I hear? It's the news about our latest offering, a holiday hunt in Grapevine Texas, the Christmas Capitol of Texas. It's a cheerful celebration of all things jolly, and there's no better spot for it than in Grapevine, where there's no street corner left undecorated, no light left unlit, and no door left unwreathed!
If you're eager to try the holiday hunt but haven't figured out how to get a group together, we're hosting a special edition of our Grapevine holiday hunt on December 11, in collaboration with Hop & Sting Brewing Company. As you play, you'll explore Downtown Grapevine in an effort to find the clues to help you unlock festive puzzles. You'll be running here and there, all around the square, saying "catch me if you can" to the competition. (And if you recognized that reference, you're just the type of person who we built this thing for.) And just so you know, the game is full of Christmas spirit, but the puzzles are diverse enough that anyone who plays will have a blast, whether they believe in Santa or not. Put together a team and join in our reindeer (brain dear?) games. Don't have a team? No problem. Show up and we'll put you on one. There's no minimum size to attend, so just bring your own self and be present. And hopefully, gifted as well. (If you see what I did there.) We'll kick off from the brewery at 10:30 am which will leave you plenty of time to get some searching in before you get hangry. Teams will embark on a quest through Downtown Grapevine, and you'll have 90 minutes to find as many clues as you can, searching through snowflakes, ribbons, and lots of surprises. And of course, you'll also need to take some hilarious photos of your adventure through town, for a chance to earn big bonus points. When time's up, everyone will head back to the brewery where the crew from DFW Scavenger Hunt will score your performance and find out which team really delivered! The winning team will receive a gift certificate to Hop & Sting, perfect for sampling their seasonal Christmas Cookie Ale. Now that's what we call a major award! Putting your brain to the test is a great way to uniquely celebrate the holidays and get together with your people, and all our hunts take place outdoors so you know you're playing safely. And a post-game party at Hop & Sting is sure to be a great way to raise a glass and raise your spirits. If you're a fan of word games, puzzles, escape rooms, and the Amazing Race, this hunt is just want you've wished for this holiday season. After all, they don't call it the most wonderful time of the year for nothing... we're just trying to get you wondering a little bit more. Tickets are $29.95 and available at Eventbrite. Tickets include admission to the hunt only. Food and beverage at Hop & Sting are not included. For more information, don't hesitate to contact us at [email protected] or directly at 214-702-9612. Hope to see you there! When December rolls around, it's always a treat in our family to make our way to Grapevine Texas. Billed as the Christmas Capital of Texas, Grapevine puts on a heck of a show. Lights, decorations, music, everywhere you look there's something festive. From giant ornaments on every corner to funny elves and reindeer perched on sidewalks to and trees hung with garland, it's a sight to see. (On a side note, Grapevine over Garland as the Christmas Capital of Texas is a real upset!) There's carolers, snowflakes, even a whole Whoville to explore! And we haven't even mentioned the Polar Express that runs through town. Did anyone else just hear a bell ring?
Because we love Grapevine and the holidays so much, it only made sense to offer a holiday themed scavenger hunt in the heart of Grapevine. We love our main hunt in the city because there's so much great art, architecture, and history to take in, and a scavenger hunt acts as a tour through Grapevine with a brain-teasing twist. We love watching teams race the clock to solve puzzles and unlock clues as they take in the trains, the outdoor sculptures, and the historic buildings. So why not wrap it all up in a big bow and toss a bit of Christmas spirit in? The Holiday Hunt in Grapevine Texas is a jolly quest through the streets of town in a quest to solve a holiday riddle. Explore the city on foot to track down the answers to fun, funny puzzles as you race the clock (and your competition!). It's a great way to get outdoors and a unique twist on typical holiday fun. Like all our hunts, it's hosted by a real person who will be there for hints, encouragement, and bad jokes. While there's certainly a lot of Christmas spirit included in the hunt, the games and puzzles are diverse and inclusive, so everyone who plays will have a chance to shine, whether they believe in Santa or not. On every team, there's always a couple of stars you end up following. If you're taking in the decorations at the Gaylord Texan Resort, downtown Grapevine is just down the road. Add a scavenger hunt to your day out and make it a total package. Get in touch with us to find a way to add something puzzling to your trip. And because we're so close, it's a great option for something to do near DFW airport. It's a perfect solution for team building and holiday parties in the Grapevine area. Planning a holiday celebration for your employees during a pandemic is a tricky prospect, but we offer an experience that's outdoors and socially distanced while still staying festive. We offer a budget-friendly solution that's locally owned, locally built, and locally hosted. On the other hand, maybe you've got family in town and have reached the point where you need everyone out of the house for a couple of hours. In that case, we're happy to entertain them for a while and show them all the wonders of Grapevine. Let us know if you want us to drop them off at a winery when they're done. We really do think this is the most wonderful time of the year, and we love wondering. Hey, that's why we make so many puzzles! So if you're wondering what to do for the holidays in Grapevine, let us deliver! We're getting ready for the holiday season, and planning all of our holiday scavenger hunts has us in a holiday puzzling mood. That's why we've come up with this challenge inspired by some of our favorite holiday films. The IMDb knows when you've been bad or good, even if you're a movie. They love finding and pointing out mistakes, and we've listed several here. Can you sort out which Christmas and holiday-related films these flubs are from? 1. While this film takes place in 1939, the Lone Ranger’s nephew’s horse, known as Victor, was not introduced until 1943. 2. Several shots of the judge show a lamp on his desk. When the mail is dumped in front of him, the lamp has disappeared. 3. Gruber says “Schiess den Fenster” (“shoot the window”). The correct German term would have been “Zerschiess das Fenster”. 4. When Emily is eating the spaghetti for breakfast, you can see the amount of sauce on the pasta changes between shots. 5. When Sam is being chased by airport security, at the checkpoint, in some cuts a spring board can be seen for his leap over the guard. 6. When Kate phones the Chicago Police from France, she calls them on a payphone that is a BT model that wouldn’t be found in France. 7. When everyone is jumping into the pool during the dance, the same person jumps in twice. Need a hint? You can peek at the answers below... Finished in no time and need a bigger challenge?
